Wonder Valley resident Harold deLisle came to Saturday's presentation on rattlesnakes, given by local rattlesnake relocator, Bert Lies.

DeLisle holds a PhD in biology, worked for Joshua Tree National Park, as well as once serving as the president of the Southwestern Herpetologist Society, He wrote "Amphibians and Reptiles of Joshua Tree National Park California," among many other books.

Once we knew we had a herpetologist of such renown among us Bert invited him to take part in the lecture and Harold's contributions were greatly appreciated.

About 30 people attended the event. Lots of breathtaking stories were related and everyone's questions were answered.

Of course, the delicious Porto's pastries and the French roast coffee may have helped reel in the crowd, but Harold and Bert kept everyone on the edge of their seat.
