Free Health Fair in Yucca Valley

MORONGO BASIN HEALTHCARE DISTRICT ANNOUNCES HEALTH AND RESOURCE FAIR

Teresa Sitz, the Coordinator of the Wonder Valley Community Center, will be volunteering at the Desert AIDS Project table at the Yucca Valley Health Fair this Saturday. Stop by and say "Hi!" Ken Sitz, a registered volunteer, will open and staff the Wonder Valley Community Center in her place.

"The Morongo Basin Healthcare District, in partnership with the Town of Yucca Valley, is hosting a FREE Health & Community Resource Fair, Saturday, May 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Yucca Valley Community Center,  57090 Twentynine Palms Highway.

"The community is invited to enjoy fun and informative health activities, including: free health screenings; more than 40 community vendors providing resources and information; drop-in lectures on such topics as healthy eating on a budget, treating depression, and CPR; a new and improved Kids’ Zone; drawings and giveaways; the opportunity to donate blood; and static displays. A free healthy lunch will be provided.

"Morongo Basin Healthcare District seeks to improve the health and wellness of residents who live within its designated boundaries. Services of the healthcare district include the Morongo Basin Community Health Center with offices in Twentynine Palms and Yucca Valley; and LIFT Transportation Services, providing free, non-emergency transportation to medical appointments.

A chance to get rid of up to 9 tires FREE!

The Rotary is partnering with Joshua Tree Parks and Recreations for Summer Splash - a free day-long event on Saturday, August 22, at 6171 Sunburst Avenue, in Joshua Tree.

Here's the GOOD PART. They're having an E-waste (computers, cell phones, etc.) and TIRE disposal. Take up to 9 tires FREE! It's always better if they don't have rims.

Admission and parking are FREE.

Enjoy the rest of Summer Splash from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., at the Joshua Tree Community Center, 6171 Sunburst Avenue. The event includes an art show, kid's games, face painting, dance demonstrations, a car and tractor show, hoop classes, live performances with “On Tapp,” a dunk tank, a barbecue, and more. Free Veterans Assistance - Counseling and Claims

A Mobile Service Office of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) will be at Copper Mountain College’s Bell Center on August 27 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. A DAV National Service Officer will provide free counseling and claim filing assistance. Free community book/dvd/vhs lending service

The Wonder Valley Community Center, 80526 Amboy Road, has a lending program: books, dvds, and vhs tapes. Just come in and sign something out. No dues. No fines. No late fees.

Such a deal, right? Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. - noon.

Wonder Valley Experimental Festival

The seventh installment of the Wonder Valley Experimental Festival. A carnival of harsh noise, weird instruments, free improvisation and the joy of free sonic manipulation! Still Fun! Still Free!
