Wonder Valley Man Accused of Ransacking a Home

A Wonder Valley man was arrested Sunday, accused of burglarizing a home. Sheriff’s deputies who were called to a home in the 4500 block of Blower Road in Wonder Valley about 9:30 a.m. discovered the home had been ransacked. Several items, including cans of food and a chainsaw, were stolen from the home. Evidence at the scene led deputies to the 81200 block of Harley Lane where they found Chad Heffley, 41, and the stolen items. After an investigation, Chad Heffley was arrested on suspicion of burglary, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $25,000.

    A man was tased and arrested following a disturbance in Wonder Valley Tuesday. According to Sergeant Randy Warfield, Herman Platzke Jr., had been bothering a woman who was staying with a friend in the 81200 block of Harley Lane Monday, and when he returned about 5 a.m. Tuesday, the resident called the Sheriff’s Department. When the deputy arrived, Platzke was inside an old trailer at the rear of the property. Warfield said as the deputy approached the trailer, Platzke came out in a hurry, and reached into his pocket. The deputy then tased Platzke. Herman Platzke Junior was arrested for investigation of possession of methamphetamine, and on two warrants for drugs, with his total bail set at $150,000.

    Two men were arrested in Wonder Valley on a warrant arrest Tuesday morning. According to a Sheriff’s report, a deputy was on the way to the 81200 block of Harley Lane shortly before 11 a.m. to serve an arrest warrant on Lauris Kukainis, 53. The deputy saw a white pick up truck leaving the home, and stopped it for having an obscured license plate. Inside the truck was Anthony Yoho, 53, who had a drug-related misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. Anthony Yoho was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance and was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $25,000. The deputy went to the Kukainis home and arrested Lauris Kukainis, 53, on his warrants for forgery and grand theft. He was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $25,000.
