Darlene’s Commentary: I had the surprise of my life on my 67th birthday. Karen had taken me out to lunch, and we took our time enjoying the good food and talking and relaxing before heading for home. When we got to my house, my yard looked like a parking lot! Cars were everywhere, and I couldn’t quite grasp what was going on. Well it was a surprise birthday party for me! I had no notion or hint that this was coming so I was completely flabbergasted! There were about 30 people there, including all three of my kids and all of their kids, plus many dear friends. The person who orchestrated the plans for such a fantastic party is Richard Herron, my sweetheart for 20+ years. I was showered with beautiful cards and gifts and will always have sweet and happy memories of that wonderful day. A sincere thank you to all who made it happen.

Karen’s Commentary: Dar hogged all the room! (Only joking.)
If you’d like to go to the Twentynine Palms Nutrition Site for lunch on Tuesdays or Thursdays, Reach Out Morongo Basin picks up at 10 a.m. and drops off at 2 p.m., both at The Palms. If you have trouble getting to The Palms, they may pick up and drop off at your residence. Call 760-361-1410.
Handy Hint: Before you go to the store, make a shopping list. People who shop with a list spend less time in the store and make fewer impulse buys.

Today’s Thought: Your “philtrum” is the little groove between your nose and upper lip.

Until next time . . . remember to take time to enjoy the WONDERs all around us.
